Beyond Blue
It is a leading organisation dedicated to promoting mental health and supporting individuals affected by anxiety, depression and suicide.

Black Dog Institute

Focuses on understanding, preventing, and treating mental health illnesses, with an emphasis on mood disorders like depression and bipolar disorder.

Headspace

Provides mental health support and resources tailored to young people aged 12-25, addressing mental health struggles, anxiety, depression, and more.

SANE Australia

Offers support, information, and resources for people affected by mental health issues and disorders, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and related conditions.

Other Services

These organisations and services offer you choice and control in finding mental health professionals who align with your language preference, cultural understanding and therapeutic needs.

University Counselling Services : ​Head to Health 

​

  • Free and confidential service for the Australian Government (available and accessible to all irrespective of visa status and ethnicity).

  • It connects you with the help and support you need for your well-being.  

  • ​​You do not need a referral from a GP to access support.

Find a Counsellor/Therapist: 

 

  • PACFA: Search for certified therapists specialising in a range of approaches. ​

  • ACA: Find qualified counsellors across Australia ​

  • Find a psychologist to receive a diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders with various specialties. 

  • Find a psychiatrist (need a referral from GP) to receive diagnosis, treatment and medication support for mental health disorders. 
     

*For Australian residents and citizens, you will need a referral from a GP to access support at a subsidised rate. Temporary visa holders may be eligible for lower rates based on their health insurance policy.
